"A strong applicant has at least a 3.0 GPA, good activities and community service, and strong desire to go to college and have a career. And hopefully, a Letter of Recommendation that comes in on time!
Are there scholarships with less competition?
"Some, but they are usually because they are just for one particular high school. Those that are statewide, meaning any student can apply, have many applicants and are very competitive. But it's rare that a scholarship has no one eligible or no one applied for it.
