The Gulf Coast Past President’s Scholarship is available for applicants that are an ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation) student member. Students must be majoring in occupational safety or closely related field (industrial engineering, sciences, or potentially business) for this scholarship, as well. If, at the time of application, the student is not an ASSE member, they can apply for membership at the same time.
Priority for this scholarship will be given to students in Gulf Coast states, but is open for all international and national students.

The award amount for this scholarship is $2000. Two awards offered annually. This award is non-renewable.
The following prerequisites are necessary to apply for a scholarship:
Students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university.
Part-time students are eligible only if they hold a general or professional ASSE membership.
Students must have completed at least 60 undergraduate credit hours at the time of application, but must not graduate before May.
Minimum GPA requirement is 3.0.

A 3.0 undergraduate GPA and (if applicable) a 3.5 GPA

This scholarship earns a low competition rating. Scholarships with low competition are usually limited to students who live in a specific geographic area and/or specific group of students. We highly suggest you apply to this scholarship if you meet the requirements.
